We have raised £13000 so far and and are moving in the right direction to reach our target of £26000 to enable us to install the new All-Weather-Court. We will be adding links and logo's to the site for our supporters, which have enabled us to keep going in 2008/9 and offer us a brigh future from 2010.
Child Protection
We take protection of our children very seriously and have a registered Child Protection Officer with the club. This document explains our committment to child protection.
Membership Prices have been held at the same level as last year!
The committe has been able to keep prices at the same levels as last year and is progressing with it's efforts in seeking funding for the all-weather courts. We have secured £6000 towards the hard court resurfacing and fencing and are working towards the £26 K needed - does anyone have any fundraising ideas...?! I am
We are also trying to arrange after-school coaching for children aged 5 and over. It will probably work out at approx £3 for 45 mins in a group of around 6. For more information please contact Lorna on (01332) 881665.
In 2008 it was all about proving ownership to enable us to apply for grants. Having acheived that we have been able to secure some funding but we are still short of the 25k needed to implement an all-weather court.
New Signs
Look out for the new signs on the courts and entrance to the club.
Smalley Lawn Tennis Club – a local hidden gem awaits you.........
Would you like to improve your fitness, meet new friends, relax and unwind, enjoy family time, improve your game or would like to learn tennis – all in beautiful surroundings and whilst supporting your local community?
Smalley Lawn Tennis Club has been re-launched and wishes to welcome new members.
Situated off Dobholes Lane, Smalley, next to the park and Cricket Club, the tennis courts were originally donated by the Owners of Stainsby Hall for recreational use by their servants.
A tennis club for the use of the local community has been voluntarily run since the end of World War Two, but has unfortunately been in decline for the past 18 months.
Not wishing to lose this treasured, historic local facility and seeing the numerous benefits it can bring, four local families are endeavouring to make the Club thrive again.
Facilities include: two exceptionally well maintained grass courts, one hard court (which hopes to be re-laid within the next year) nearby parking and free on-line court booking. Club house facilities are also available for use at Stainsby Hall Cricket Club and coaching can be arranged for adults and children as individuals or groups. Several social/fundraising events are planned throughout the year.
Memberships costs £45 per year for single court usage or £60 for two court usage. There is no charge for the games you play.
Download a membership form here or pick up an Application Form at Smalley Post Office or The Flower Shop, Horsley Woodhouse.
We hope you share our enthusiasm and look forward to your support and welcoming you!
With sincere warm regards, The Smalley Lawn Tennis Club Committee.
